Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde has confirmed that all parties have reached an agreement for Denis Suarez loan move to Arsenal, according to the Evening Standard.
The Gunners have been looking to land the 25 year old Spanish midfielder on loan for the most part of this month but failed to reach an agreement with Barcelona as negotiations broke down last week.
Suarez had 18 months left on his contract and was looking to leave the club after failing to secure regular playing time.
Arsenal wanted a loan move with an option to buy, while Barcelona wanted a permanent move or a loan move with an obligation to buy.
The Gunners couldn’t agree to the obligation to buy clause leading to breakdown in negotiations.
Real Betis and Sevilla made enquires about the availability of the midfielder and were prepared to pay a fee close to his release clause, but the player insisted he was only interested in a move to the Emirates leading to resumption of talks ahead of transfer deadline.
He will now move on loan for the rest of the season to Arsenal for a fee of €2.5 million after agreeing to a one year extension on his current deal with the Catalans.
When asked about the deal Valverde said; “The deal is not official yet, but it was something that all parties wanted and let’s hope it goes well”
“I do not think there are any more changes with regards to the squad” he added.
