Liverpool midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri has been ruled out of Switzerland’s squad against Georgia and Denmark qualifiers due to a gorin injury.
The former Southampton star has not featured for Liverpool since their goalless draw aginst Manchester United at Old Traffrd, although he was among Jurgen Klopp listed substitute against Fulham on Sunday.
The Swizz attacker joined up with his international colleagues on Monday but did not train, instead undergoing a medical examination at a hospital in Zurich.
Those tests subsequently revealed an inflammation in Shaqiri’s groin which will rule him out of the two matches. Switzerland coach Vladimir Petkovic will call up a replacement on Tuesday.
