Paris Saint-Germain are reprotedly monitoring Ander Herrera’s situation at Manchester United and are conscious he would be available on a free transfer if no agreement is reached with in coming days, as they view him as a relatively low-cost midfield option.
Herrera, who has become an integral figure under caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, sees his future at United and is hopeful a breakthrough can be reached.
Several reports earlier this week claims the Spaniard, whose present deal at United expires at the end of the current campaign, is expected to pocket £150,000-a-week deal at PSG for three years.
Herrera, who made a total of 187 appearances for United across five seasons in the Premier League reportedly snubbed improved contract as he hopes to push a move away from Old Trafford, according to the Daily Record
It has been suggested that Herrera was holding out for as much as £200,000-a-week to stay at United, but was offered closer to half that sum.
PSG have been eager to add more quality in midfield, with Adrien Rabiot set to leave on a free transfer in the summer, and will be delighted to have tied down Herrera so soon.
