Arsenal, Paris Saint Germain and Manchester City have both registered interest in signing Everton’s Idrissa Gueye after he reportedly submitted a transfer request to the club, according to Sky Sport.
Gueye is reported to have handed in a transfer request after the club rejected a £25 million bid for him from Paris Saint Germain in the January transfer window.
He had written to the club officials in January, pleading with them to allow him join the Ligue One giants.
Everton have since denied receiving any transfer request from the 29 year old, and insist that he is not for sale, with any further bid also likely to be rejected.
Arsenal and Manchester City are now closely monitoring the situation with view of making a move should the opportunity arise.
Everton boss Marco Silva told the media that there have not been any fresh bids for the player even as he nurses a groin injury after representing Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
“He had a minor problem with his groin” the manager said.
“We tried to be honest with all of you and with our fans. After the match I tried to find out if something new has happened because I expected your question and there’s nothing new.
“He has a minor problem with his groin. No new offers and hopefully he can continue with us.
“I know the market is open for a few more weeks and it’s always tough for us, but about the new offer, £30m, nothing came true”
The Gunners are also interested in signing Christopher Nkunku from PSG on loan, though unavailability of funds is threatening to scupper the deal.
While Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola will be looking at other targets as PSG appear to be more keen on landing the powerful defensive midfielder.
