According to report via the Daily Mail, Spanish giants Barcelona are preparing to open talk for Chelsea’s forward Willian ahead of the start of the 2020 season.
The 31-year-old Brazilian international has been heavily linked with a move to the Catalan club in previous transfer windows but a move never materialised.
Willians contract with the Blues is set to expire at the end of the season and it is understood talks over a contract extension is yet to be discussed but it is understood Chelsea are keen on doing everything they can to keep their impressive number 10 star who has so far lived up to expectation since the departure of Eden Hazard to Real Madrid.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk forward has so far registered two goals and three assists in the Premier League this term, with his performances much improved under Frank Lampard after a hit-and-miss season under Maurizio Sarri.
Barcelona are hoping to agree a pre-contract with the 31-year-old in January to ensure that no other clubs come in and hijack their move for him.
Willian has scored 55 times in 307 appearances for the Blues since arriving from Anzhi Makhachkala in 2013.
The attacker has also won two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and the Europa League during his time at Stamford Bridge.
I believe Chelsea should open talks with Willians, His tireless work rate, his undeniable pace and his ability to create chances can’t be undermined in the Chelsea squad.
He has cemented his place as one of their key players this season under new manager Frank Lampard.
