Several reports suggest Manchester United are desperate to offload former Alexis Sanchez to Inter Milan in summer, according to the Athletic.
The Chilean is on loan at Inter, but injuries have restricted him to just three Serie A starts this season.
The 30-year-old is one of United’s top earners, with the club subsidising some of his wages during his time at the San Siro.
The former Arsenal forward had few suitors last summer due to his huge wages, but United committed to paying £300,000 each week to his wages at Inter.
Inter have the option to buy Sanchez at the end of his loan spell for a cut-price figure, but that remains unlikely so long as he is sidelined.
Meanwhile, it is understood Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already identified his replacement having shown interest in RB Salzburg starlet Erling Haaland with the Mirror calming Solsjaer have his ‘personal scout’, Simon Wells, to watch the teenage wonderkid.
Solskjaer asked Wells from the club’s recruitment team to closely assess players who could strengthen his under-achieving squad earlier this season.
United have also been linked with Bournemouth’s Callum Wilson and are being tipped for a busy January compared to their closest rivals.
