Arsenal have confirm Dani Ceballos won’t be available when they take on Southampton this weekend, according to Arsenal official website.
The Spain playmaker, who has impressed since joining the Gunners on loan from Real Madrid in the summer, was replaced after 54 minutes of Arsenal’s draw with Vitoria on November 6 clutching his hamstring.
Unai Emery’s initial assessment gave fans hope that he would be fit to return for the match against the Saints after revealing it was a “small injury”, but Arsenal’s announcement on their official website have revealed that would not be the case.
And official statement confirmed damage to Ceballos’ left hamstring means he is aiming to return to full training in mid-December.
The 23-year-old has made 17 appearances in all competitions since moving to Emirates Stadium on a season-long loan from Madrid.
In the absence of Ceballos it means Emery will be forced to start Mesut Ozil who has failed to replicate his last season form.
The German playmaker has made just five appearances in all competitions for the Gunners this season, providing just one assist in the 5-5 thriller against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup.
